You can now access this blog by going to www.lucidgraphicdesign.com until I get something design/photography specific. I'm also working on a logo and materials for Lucid Graphic Design so those will be debuted here one of these days sooner then later. I know, I see the irony here, a graphic design business that doesn't have a logo, business cards, etc. My plan: one step at a time. :)

Happy AFTER Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and days off from work. Mine was good and bad.

The good: Visited with family and friends, ate yummy food, still eating leftover pumpkin pie (my favorite...I'm a pumpkin anything freak), got a nice TDay sale on a 50" Samsung HDTV (you should have seen the drool dripping from JR's head), did some black friday shopping without too much hassle, and got to "sleep in" 3 of the 4 days (read: sleep in until 7:00 a.m...woo hoo).

The bad: All of us have a cold, mine being the worst (of course). I've been blessed with many things in life, having a high tolerance to sickness is not one of them. If it's "going around" I WILL get it.

I have only got 3 people left to buy for and all the other people's gifts are already wrapped and under our Christmas tree. You know it! I put the Christmas decor up the day after Thanksgiving. Except JR can't find what he did with our garland and outside lights box so we are sans house lights until it is located. I love Christmas time and having Natalie be into it this year really makes me excited for it. She LOVES the decorations on the tree, she spends a lot of time touching each one she can reach saying "ooohhh".

Go Broncos!

Tomorrow is one of the biggest games for BSU. Not in terms of challenges, but in terms of rivalries! We play the University of Idaho tomorrow, which involves a lot of emotion. This is our biggest rivalry and has been for many, many, many years. In fact, even at work today we are all showing our love for the rivalry by sporting BSU or UofI colors. GO BOISE STATE!

Cookies!

These are a favorite cookie at our house, so I thought I'd share!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk chocolate chips (I always add a little more then 1 cup)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the peanut butter, vanilla and egg until well blended. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the batter just until moistened. Mix in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Drop by tablespoonfuls on to lightly greased cookie sheets.
3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges start to brown. Cool on cookie sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

As requested.

Here's the wonderful, beautiful, fish tank. lol.

JR went and got some fish for it last night. We are now the proud owners of 4 goldfish, 1 blackfish with big, bulging eyes and 1 spotted something or other fish. Soooo, now what? Do I walk them? Do I need to talk to them so they grow? Do they do any tricks?

What happens when JR & Natalie are home alone.

Natalie's daycare was closed yesterday and JR stayed home with her. I get a phone call in the afternoon from JR and he asks me to please come home in a great mood. I drilled him to see why, but he would only tell me that he bought Natalie something. At this point I'm sure I'm going to come home to Natalie decked out in camo running around with a toddler sized dirt bike helmet on her head and running into walls or something.

I get home, walk in the door not sure what to expect and there sitting on my KITCHEN counter with it's light on (for added effect) is a fish tank. JR knows I HATE fish tanks. He also knows that I'm a sucker for anything that Natalie wants and she already loves it. I don't mean to offend anyone who likes fish, but I hate them. They are dirty, smelly, boring things that swim around with poop hanging out their butts. I have no compassion for fish. My idea of fish is catching fresh trout and eating them! So now we are going tonight to pick out a few fish for the tank. I can hardly contain my joy. Where in the hell am I going to hide that tacky thing because it is so not staying in my kitchen! Does JR realize that he has set us up for years of handing a dead fish over to the pet store owner pleading that we find one that looks exactly like the dead one all before Natalie notices? lol. It could be worse...it could be a rat that JR so badily wants. I won't even get into that, however just know that the last time he tried to get me to get a rat, I was in sheer terror of how big the male's balls are and the female peed in JRs hand. Good times...good times!

Spoiled!

I ordered Natalie's Christmas gift today. I'm so excited to give it to her Christmas morning. Costco has a great price on them right now...the best price we could find.
How cute is this! It's the Pink Retro Kitchen by KidKraft (wood). I know she's going to love it. She really loves to help with everything! For instance, when I unload the dishwasher she must help with the utensils. She hands me them (sans knives of course) one by one until they are all put away. lol. She is going to be one spoiled girl. All of the grandparents are getting her all the kitchen related appliances, food, dishware, and even a table & chairs to match her kitchen. When I die, I would like to come back as Natalie. :)

Sunday's favorite thing

Today I am loving this:
What a great voice!

To be a kid again...

Happy Halloween!

Pictures of Natalie from last night! She had a lot of fun. We trick or treated our street and then came back to hand out candy. The next door kitty followed us up and down the street waiting for us at each door...very cute! Natalie wouldn't go up to the door though, unless one of us was holding her.
